Jenny Colgan was born in Prestwick, Ayrshire, Scotland. She is a scottish writer of romantic comedy fiction and science-fiction. She writes under her own name and using the pseudonyms Jane Beaton and J. T. Colgan. She studied at Edinburgh University. She has written several novels include: Amanda's Wedding, Looking for Andrew McCarthy, Talking to Addison, Working Wonders, West End Girls, Operation Sunshine, Diamonds Are A Girls Best Friend, Christmas at the Cupcake Café, The Loveliest Chocolate Shop In Paris, Meet Me at the Cupcake Café (Won the 2012 Melissa Nathan Award for Comedy Romance), Sweetshop of Dreams (Winner of the RNA Romantic Novel of the Year Award 2013), The Little Beach Street Bakery, Summer at little Beach Street Bakery, and The Bookshop on the Corner.
