Jeanine Basinger is an American film historian. She is the Corwin-Fuller Professor of Film Studies, founder and curator of the Wesleyan Cinema Archives, Chair of the Film Studies Department, and a 1996 recipient of Wesleyan’s Binswanger Prize for Excellence in Teaching. She is also a trustee emeritus of the American Film Institute. She has appeared in numerous documentaries, and also in a dramatic role in A Better Way to Die. In 2006, she participated in Wanderlust, a documentary film on road movies and their effect on American culture. She has written several books include: Anthony Mann, A Woman's View, American Cinema: One Hundred Years of Filmmaking, Silent Stars (Won- William K. Everson Prize), The Star Machine (Won- Theatre Library Association Award), and I Do and I Don't.
