Jean Kerr was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, USA. She was an American author and playwright, best known for her humorous bestseller, Please Don't Eat the Daisies, and the plays King of Hearts (Won- Tony Award) and Mary, Mary. She earned a BA degree from Marywood College. She earned an MA degree from Catholic University of America. She married professor Walter Kerr and they had six children. With her husband, she wrote Goldilocks, a short-lived Broadway musical comedy about the early days of silent film. She wrote other books include: The snake has all the lines and How I got to be perfect. She wrote other plays include: The Song of Bernadette, Jenny Kissed Me, Goldilocks, Poor Richard, Finishing Touches, and Lunch Hour.
