Jean Nicolas Grou was born in Calais, France. He was a French Roman Catholic mystic and spiritual writer. He educated at the Lycée Louis-le-Grand in Paris. He wrote several books include: Manual for Interior Souls, The Spiritual Life, Meditations Upon the Love of God (1875), How to Pray, The Hidden Life of the Soul, and The Gift of Self to God.
