Jean Bodin was born in Angers, France. He was a French lawyer, political philosopher, and professor of law in Toulouse. He is best known for his theory of sovereignty; he was also an influential writer on demonology. He wrote several books include: Six books of the commonwealth, On sovereignty, Method for the easy comprehension of history, and Colloquium heptaplomeres.
