Janice Galloway was born in Saltcoats, Ayrshire, Scotland. She is a Scottish writer of novels, short stories, prose-poetry and non-fiction. She studied Music and English at Glasgow University, then worked as a school teacher. She has written several novels include: The Trick is to Keep Breathing((MIND Book of the Year award, Allen Lane Award), Foreign Parts(McVitie's Prize), and Clara( Creative Scotland Award, Saltire Book of the Year award). She has written several short stories include: Blood, Where You Find It, Collected Stories, and Jellyfish. She has written other books include: Boy Book See(Poetry), Rosengarten(poetry), This is Not about Me(SMIT non-fiction Book of the Year award), and All Made Up(Scottish Best Book of the Year award 2012).
