Jane Rogers was born in London, England. She is a British novelist and professor. She earned a BA degree in 1974. She went on to complete a Postgraduate Certificate in Education at the University of Leicester in 1976. In 1994, she was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature. She is Emerita Professor of Writing and also writes radio dramas and adaptations. She has written several novels include: Separate tracks, Her Living Image(Won- Somerset Maugham Award), The Ice is Singing, Mr. Wroe's virgins, Promised Lands, Island, The Voyage Home, The Testament of Jessie Lamb(Won- Arthur C. Clarke Award, longlisted for the Man Booker Prize), and Conrad & Eleanor. She has written other books include: The Vowel Crowd(with Jeremy Long), The Radiant Warrior Path(with Jason Chan), Hitting Trees with Sticks, Infinite Awakening(with Jason Chan), and The Best Nest.
