Irving Caesar was born in New York City, New York, USA. He was an American songwriter who wrote lyrics for numerous song standards including "Swanee," "Sometimes I'm Happy," "Crazy Rhythm," "I Want to Be Happy," "Animal Crackers in My Soup," and "Tea for Two." He was a founder of the Songwriters Guild of America. In 1972, he was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
