Iris Johansen was born in St. Louis, Missouri, USA. She is an American author of crime fiction, suspense fiction, and romance novels. In 1991, she began writing suspense historical romance novels, starting with the publication of The Wind Dancer. Her son, Roy Johansen is an Edgar Award-winning screenwriter and novelist. She has written several novels include: Your Next Breath, Shadow Play, The Perfect Witness, Night and Day, An Unexpected Song, Night Watch(with Roy Johansen), Hide Away, The Naked Eye, The Forever Dream, The Tiger Prince, The Beloved Scoundrel, Capture the Rainbow, The Perfect Witness, Shadow Play, and Killer Dreams.
