Hutton Peter Gibson was born in Peekskill, New York, USA. He is an American writer on Sedevacantism, the 1968 Jeopardy! grand champion and the father of 11 children, one of whom is the actor and director Mel Gibson. He is an outspoken critic, both of the post-Vatican II Roman Catholic Church and of those Traditionalist Catholics, like the Society of Saint Pius X, who reject Sedevacantism. He is also a proponent of various conspiracy theories. In the 1960s he worked for New York Central Railroad. He has written several books include: Is the Pope Catholic?: Paul VI's Legacy: Catholicism?, The Enemy is Here!, and The Enemy is Still Here!.
