Howard Schultz was born in Brooklyn, New York City, New York, USA. He is an American businessman. He is the chairman and CEO of Starbucks and a former owner of the Seattle SuperSonics. In 1998, he co-founded Maveron, an investment group, with Dan Levitan. On December 1, 2016, he announced his resignation as CEO of Starbucks, effective April 2017. He will become executive chairman, with Kevin Johnson to become CEO. He received his bachelor's degree in Communications in 1975. He was awarded the "Israel 50th Anniversary Tribute Award" in 1998. In 1999, he was awarded the "National Leadership Award" for philanthropic and educational efforts to battle AIDS. In 2007, he received the FIRST Responsible Capitalism Award. He has written several books include: Pour Your Heart into It, Onward(with Stephen Bowlby), and For Love of Country(with Rajiv Chandrasekaran).
