Henry Brooke was born in Rantavan, Mullagh, Ireland. He was an Irish novelist and playwright. He was educated at the Royal School Cavan and Trinity College Dublin and afterwards went to London to study law. He began his career as a poet. He wrote several novels include: The Fool of Quality and Juliet Grenville. He wrote several plays include: The Earl of Essex and Gustavus Vasa.
