Harry Lewis Golden was born in Ukraine. He was an American author, journalist and newspaper publisher. He worked as a reporter for the Charlotte Labor Journal and The Charlotte Observer, he wrote about and spoke out against racial segregation and the Jim Crow laws of the time. From 1942 to 1968, he published The Carolina Israelite. He wrote several books include: Only in America, Carl Sandburg, The greatest Jewish city in the world, Los Israelies, Our Southern landsman, and For Two Cents Plain.
