Harriett Woods was born in Cleveland, Ohio, USA. She was an American politician. She was two-time Democratic nominee for the United States Senate from Missouri. She served as the 42nd Lieutenant Governor of Missouri under Governor John Ashcroft. She was Missouri's first and so far only female Lieutenant Governor. She received her BA degree in philosophy from the University of Michigan. Before beginning her career in politics, Woods worked as a journalist and TV producer.
