Eileen Evelyn Greer Garson was born in Manor Park, London, England. She was a British-American actress. She was educated at King's College London, where she earned degrees in French and 18th-century literature. A major star at Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer during the 1940s, she received seven Academy Award nominations. Her role in several films include: Goodbye, Mr. Chips, Blossoms in the Dust, Mrs. Miniver(won Academy Award for Best Actress), Madame Curie, Mrs. Parkington, The Valley of Decision, Sunrise at Campobello(won Golden Globe Award for Best Actress and Nominated-Academy Award for Best Actress), The Singing Nun, The Happiest Millionaire, and Little Women.
