Gerald Brooks Hunt Solomon was born in Okeechobee, Florida, USA. He was an American politician known for his work on legislation that became known as the Solomon Amendment. He attended Siena College from 1949 to 1950 and St. Lawrence University from 1953 to 1954. He was a member of the New York State Assembly from 1973 to 1978. He was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives from New York from 1979-1999.
