Georges Albert Maurice Victor Bataille was born in Billom, France. He was a French intellectual and literary figure working in literature, philosophy, anthropology, economics, sociology and history of art. His writing, which included essays, novels, and poetry, explored such subjects as eroticism, mysticism, surrealism, and transgression. He wrote several books include: Story of the Eye(novella), The Solar Anus, Inner Experience, L'Abbé C(novella), Madame Edwarda, Literature and Evil, Blue of Noon(novella), The Tears of Eros, The Accursed Share(essay), The Accursed Share, and Divine Filth.
