Cheryl Gates McFadden was born in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, USA. She is an American actress and choreographer. She is best known for playing Dr. Beverly Crusher in the Star Trek: The Next Generation television series and in the four subsequent films. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts cum laude in theatre arts. Her role in several films include: When Nature Calls, Taking Care of Business, Dirty, and Make the Yuletide Gay. Her role in television include: Marker, Mad About You, and Franklin & Bash. She began working with puppets in the late 1970s, and she was a choreographer on the Jim Henson movies The Dark Crystal and Labyrinth.
