His role in several films include: The Buddy Holly Story, A Star Is Born, Lethal Weapon, Predator 2, Point Break, Under Siege, Barbarosa, The Firm, Eye of the Tiger, Soldier, Welcome 2 Ibiza, Chasing Ghosts, Beyond the Ring, Carried Away, Black Sheep, Lost Highway, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, The Gingerdead Man and Piranha 3DD. For portraying Buddy Holly in The Buddy Holly Story, he was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actor and won the National Society of Film Critics Award for Best Actor.
