He is best known for portraying Sy Ableman in A Serious Man, Sam Soto in In a World..., and for appearing in seven films directed by Woody Allen. His role in several films include: Bone Tomahawk, Some Kind of Beautiful, The Dictator, Get on Up, Fred Won't Move Out, Suspect, Blumenthal, and The Good Mother. He earned his BA from Hampshire College and his MFA from the Yale School of Drama.
