Frank Randolph Cady was born in Susanville, California, USA. He was an American actor best known for his recurring and popular role as storekeeper Sam Drucker in three American television series during the 1960s – Petticoat Junction, Green Acres, and The Beverly Hillbillies – and his earlier role as "Doc Williams" on The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet. He studied journalism and drama at Stanford University. His role in several films include: The Great Rupert, When Worlds Collide, Let's Make It Legal, The Sellout, The Atomic City, The Girl Most Likely, Zandy's Bride, Zandy's Bride, and Hearts of the West.
