She is perhaps better known for sensationalized accounts of her life, especially her involuntary commitment to a mental hospital. Her role in several films include: Too Many Parents, Rhythm on the Range, The Toast of New York, Exclusive, World Premiere, Among the Living, and The Party Crashers. She attempted an acting comeback, mainly appearing as a television host in Indianapolis on her own series, Frances Farmer Presents.
