About
Douglas Eaglesham Dunn was born in Inchinnan, Renfrewshire, Scotland. He is a Scottish poet, professor, editor and critic. Author of over ten collections of poetry, he has also edited several anthologies, including The Faber Book of Twentieth-Century Scottish Poetry. He was Professor in the School of English at the University of St Andrews from 1991, and was awarded an OBE in 2003. He holds an honorary doctorate from the University of Dundee, and Hull and St Andrews. Terry Street, Dunn's first collection of poems, appeared in 1969 and received a Scottish Arts Council Book Award as well as a Somerset Maugham Award.
