Double M was born in Brooklyn, New York. His real name is Michael Lee Moorer. He is an American retired boxer who is one of only four men to win one or more versions of the world heavyweight championship on three separate occasions, as well as being a former world light-heavyweight champion; he is one of only four men to win world titles at both light-heavyweight and heavyweight. Since 2010, he is a trainer of Polish boxer Mariusz Wach.
