Donnie Iris was born in New Castle, Pennsylvania. He is an American guitarist and singer known for his work with the Jaggerz and Wild Cherry during the 1970s, and for his solo career beginning in the 1980s with his band, the Cruisers. He was a member of The Jaggerz for several years and released three albums with the group. He was inspired by many different artists, including Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly, the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Marvin Gaye, and Ray Charles.
