Donald Henry Rumsfeld was born in Chicago, Illinois. He is an American politician and businessman. He served as the 13th Secretary of Defense from 1975 to 1977 under President Gerald Ford, and as the 21st Secretary of Defense from 2001 to 2006 under President George W. Bush. He was a four-term U.S. Congressman from Illinois and  White House Chief of Staff. He served as Chief Executive Officer, President, and then Chairman of G. D. Searle & Company. He served as Chief Executive Officer in the Pharmaceutical Industry from the Wall Street Transcript and Financial World. He served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of General Instrument Corporation from 1990 to 1993. He attended Princeton University, graduating in 1954 with a degree in political science.
