Dr. Devdutt Pattanaik was born in Mumbai, India. He is an Indian physician, columnist, mythologist, and author. He is a doctor who worked in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry for fifteen years, before turning his passion for mythology into his profession. He has written over 600 articles and 30 books on the relevance of sacred stories, symbols and rituals in modern times. He writes a column for the newspaper MiD DAY. He graduated in medicine from Grant Medical College, Mumbai.
