David Russell Gordon "Dave" Davies was born in Fortis Green, London, England. He is an English guitarist, singer, songwriter and record producer, best known for his role as lead guitarist and vocalist for the English rock band the Kinks, which also featured his brother Ray Davies. In 2003, Davies was ranked 91st in Rolling Stone magazine's list of the "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time".
