Courtney M. Privett was born in Detroit, Michigan. She is an American writer. She relocated to Missouri to obtain a degree in Ceramic Engineering. She wrote her first book, The Crystal Lattice, while still in college as a diversion from differential equations and has been obsessed ever since. She published her fifth book, Shadows of Absolution, in July 2012.
