Cathy Seibel was born in West Islip, New York. She is an American federal judge for the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. She joined the court in 2008 after being nominated by President George W. Bush. She graduated from Princeton University with her Bachelor's degree in 1982 and later from Fordham University School of Law with a Juris Doctor degree in 1985. At Fordham, Seibel served as Editor-in-Chief of the Fordham Law Review.
