Alan Patricof is an American investor and one of the early pioneers of the venture capital and private equity industries. Patricof founded Apax Partners, which is today one of the largest private equity firms globally. He graduated from The Ohio State University in 1955 after only three years and earned an M.B.A. from Columbia University in 1957 while working full-time as an analyst for an investment firm.
