Elizabeth Drew was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, USA. She is an American political journalist and author. She graduated with a B.A. in Political Science from Wellesley College, in 1957. Her first journalism job was with Congressional Quarterly beginning in 1959. She was Washington correspondent for The Atlantic Monthly and The New Yorker. She has written 14 books, including Washington Journal: The Events of 1973-74, Politics and Money: The New Road to Corruption, On the Edge: The Clinton Presidency, Slowdown: The Struggle Between the Gingrich Congress and the Clinton Whitehouse, The Corruption of American Politics, and Citizen McCain. In 1989, Spy magazine labeled her as the "author of too-frequent Washington columns."
