John Warwick Montgomery was born in Warsaw, New York, USA. He is an American-British lawyer, professor, Lutheran theologian and prolific author living in France. He earned a BA degree with distinction in Philosophy from Cornell University, New York, an MA from the University of California, Berkeley, an LLB from La Salle Extension University, Chicago, an M.Phil. in Law from the University of Essex, England, a PhD from the University of Chicago, a Th.D. Doctorat d'Universite from the University of Strasbourg, France, and an LLM and an LLD in canon law from Cardiff University, Wales. From 1995-2007, he served as Emeritus Professor of law and humanities at the University of Bedfordshire, England. From 2007-2014, he was the "Distinguished Research Professor of Philosophy and Christian Thought" at Patrick Henry College, Virginia. He is also the director of the International Academy of Apologetics, Evangelism & Human Rights, Strasbourg, France. He is the editor of the theological online journal Global Journal of Classical Theology. He has written several books include: History and Christianity, Principalities and powers, The law above the law, Faith Founded on Fact, Human Rights and Human Dignity, and History, Law and Christianity.
