James Robert Jarmusch was born in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, USA. He is an American film director, producer, screenwriter, actor, composer and editor. He earned a BA degree in English and American Literature from Columbia University in 1975. He also studied at Northwestern University and Tisch School of the Arts, New York University. He directed several films include: Permanent Vacation (also producer, writer, editor, music), Stranger Than Paradise (also writer, editor), Down by Law (also writer), Mystery Train (also writer), Night on Earth (also producer, writer), Dead Man (also writer), Year of the Horse (also writer), Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai (also producer, writer), Coffee and Cigarettes (also writer, editor), Broken Flowers (also writer), The Limits of Control (also writer), Only Lovers Left Alive (also writer), Paterson (also writer), and Gimme Danger (also writer).
