James John Walker, often known as Jimmy Walker and colloquially as Beau James was born in New York City, New York, USA. He was an American politician. He was mayor of New York City from 1926 to 1932. During a corruption scandal he was forced to resign. He was a member of the New York State Assembly from 1910-1914. He was a member of the New York State Senate from 1915 to 1925. He is the author of book, entitled Jimmie Walker, the Story of a Personality.
