Jean-Marie Gustave Le Clézio was born in Nice, France. He is a French novelist and professor. He received the Nobel Prize for Literature in 2008. He earned a BA degree from Nice's Institut d'études littéraires. He earned an MA degree from the University of Provence. He received his PhD from the University of Perpignan in 1983. He has taught at a number of universities around the world. He has written several novels include: The Interrogation, The Fever, The Flood, Terra Amata, War, The Giants, Désert, The Prospector, Onitsha, Wandering Star, Ghosts in the Street, and Ourania. He has written several essays include: Haï, Mydriase, To the Icebergs, Trois Villes saintes, Enfances, Ballaciner, Freedom to Dream, and Freedom to Speak. He has written several short stories include: Fever, Mondo and other stories, and Pawana.
