Gerald Edward Sikorski was born in Breckenridge, Minnesota, USA. He is an American politician and lawyer. He represented Minnesota in the U.S. House of Representatives for ten years, from 1983 to 1993, serving as Whip-at-Large, as a member of the Committees on Energy and Commerce, Post Office, and Civil Service. He served in the Minnesota state Senate from 1976 to 1982. He earned a B.A. degree from the University of Minnesota in 1970 and a Juris Doctor from the University of Minnesota Law School in 1973. After his departure from Congress, he became a Washington attorney and lobbyist.
