David Drake was born in Dubuque, lowa. He is an American author of science fiction and fantasy literature. A Vietnam War veteran who has worked as a lawyer. He graduated from the University of lowa with a BA in History and Latin and a law degree from Duke University. He also contributed to the Heroes in Hell series.
