John Elder Robison was born in Athens, Georgia, USA. He is an American author, engineer and inventor. In the 1970s he worked as an engineer in the music business where he is best known for creating the signature special effects guitars played by the band KISS. In the 1980s he worked for electronics manufacturers Milton Bradley Company, Simplex, and ISOREG. He has written several books include: Look Me in the Eye (memoir), Be Different, Raising Cubby, and Switched On. John’s books are sold in a dozen languages in over 65 countries.
