Gregory David Roberts was born in Melbourne, Australia. He is an Australian author best known for his novel Shantaram. He has written other books include: Crime and Refuge(with Hanne Nabintu Herland), and The Mountain Shadow(novel). He also written the original screenplay for the movie adaptation of Shantaram.
