Garth Richard Nix was born in Melbourne, Australia. He is an Australian writer who specialises in children's and young adults' fantasy novels, notably the Old Kingdom, Seventh Tower and Keys to the Kingdom series. He earned a B.A. degree in professional writing at Canberra University. He has written several novels include: Sabriel, Abhorsen, Lirael, Mister Monday, Shade's Children, Grim Tuesday, A Confusion of Princes, Sir Thursday, Lady Friday, Superior Saturday, Lord Sunday, and The Ragwitch.
