Ann Wigmore was born in Lithuania. She was a Lithuanian holistic health practitioner, nutritionist, whole foods advocate, health educator, author, and doctor of Divinity. Wigmore wrote over fifteen books, distributing over one million copies, and lectured in thirty-five countries. In 1968, Ann Wigmore co-founded the Hippocrates Health Institute, a health resort in the United States, with Viktoras Kulvinskas. She wrote How I Conquered Cancer Naturally which was very successful and brought many people to Wigmore. Wigmore died in Boston on February 16, 1994, of smoke inhalation from a fire at the Ann Wigmore Foundation.
