John Gavin Malkovich was born in Christopher, Illinois, USA. He is an American actor, director, producer and Fashion Designer. He studied at Eastern Illinois University and Illinois State University. His role in several films include: True West, Places in the Heart (Nominated- Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor), Empire of the Sun, The Object of Beauty, In the Line of Fire (Nominated- Academy Award for for Best Actor in a Supporting Role, BAFTA Film Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role, Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role), Mulholland Falls, Con Air, Rounders, Being John Malkovich, Shadow of the Vampire, Hotel, The Libertine, Klimt, In Tranzit, Burn After Reading, Red, Secretariat, Warm Bodies, Red 2, Cut Bank, and Deepwater Horizon. He directed a film, entitled The Dancer Upstairs. He produced several films include: Ghost World, Juno, and The Perks of Being a Wallflower. His role in television include: Death of a Salesman (TV film, Won- Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor. Nominated- Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor), Heart of Darkness (TV film, Nominated- Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor), RKO 281 (TV film, Nominated- Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor), and Napoléon (historical miniseries, Nominated- Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor). He created his own fashion company, Mrs. Mudd, in 2002. The company released its John Malkovich menswear collection, "Uncle Kimono", in 2003, which was subsequently covered in international press, and its second clothing line, "Technobohemian", in 2010.
