David Henry Dewhurst was born in Houston, Texas. He is an American politician who was the 41st Lieutenant Governor of Texas, serving from 2003 to 2015. A member of the Republican Party, he was the Texas Land Commissioner from 1999 to 2003. He was previously an intelligence officer in the U.S. Air Force, an officer of the Central Intelligence Agency, and worked in the United States State Department.
