Gerald W. Moran was born in Great Bend, Kansas, USA. He is an American Republican politician. He is the United States Senator from Kansas since 2011. He served as Chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee for the 113th U.S. Congress from 2013-2015. He served as a member of the United States House of Representatives from Kansas's 1st district from 1997-2011. He served as a member of the Kansas State Senate from 1989–1997. He earned a BS degree in Economics from the University of Kansas in 1976. He earned his JD degree from the University of Kansas School of Law in 1982. He practiced law at Stinson, Mag & Fizzell in Kansas City, and later joined Jeter & Larson Law Firm in Hays, where he practiced law for fifteen years. He also served as an adjunct professor of political science at Fort Hays State University. He married to Robba. They have two daughters, Kelsey and Alex.
