Dick Bruna was born in Utrecht, Netherlands. He is a Dutch  artist, illustrator, writer, and graphic designer. His best known creation is Miffy, a small rabbit drawn with heavy graphic lines, simple shapes and primary colors. He is recognized for his substantial and seminal contribution to children’s literature. He authored and illustrated more than two hundred books. His most popular designs graced the covers of the Zwarte Beertjes series of books.
