The intense perfumes of the wild herbs as we trod them underfoot made us feel almost drunk.
Jacqueline du Pre Quotes
I love the physical thing of being on the earth that bore you. I have the same feeling when I walk in a very beautiful place that I have when I play and it goes right.

Jacqueline Mary du Pre is particularly famous for performing the Elgar's Cello Concerto in E Minor, her interpretation of which has been described as "definitive" and "legendary". Her career was cut short by multiple sclerosis, which forced her to stop performing at the age of 28, and led to her premature death. Posthumously, she was the subject of a film entitled Hilary and Jackie that was factually controversial and criticized for sensationalising her private life.
