John Wright Hickenlooper Jr. was born in Narberth, Pennsylvania, USA. He is an American Democratic politician, businessman and geologist. He is the 42nd and current Governor of Colorado, in office since 2011. He served as the 43rd Mayor of Denver from 2003-2011. He earned a BA degree in English in 1974, and an MS degree in Geology in 1980 both from Wesleyan University. After his career as a geologist, he entered a career in business and cofounded the Wynkoop Brewing Company in Denver.
