Jillian Noel "Jill" Hennessy was born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. She is a Canadian actress. She graduated from Grand River Collegiate Institute in Kitchener, Ontario. She is multi-lingual, speaking English, Italian, French, Spanish and German. Her role in several films include: Dead Ringers, RoboCop 3, A Smile Like Yours, Chutney Popcorn, Molly, Komodo, The Acting Class (also director, writer), Autumn in New York, Pipe Dream, Wild Hogs, Lymelife, Roadie, Dawn Rider, and If I Had Wings. Her role in television include: Law & Order (TV series), Nuremberg (TV film, Won- Satellite Award for Best Actress), Crossing Jordan (TV series, Won- Gracie Allen Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series), Luck (TV series), and Jo (TV series). The Minneapolis-based band Mollycuddle wrote the song "The Ballad of Jill Hennessy" in honor of the actress. She married Paolo Mastropietro in 2000. They have two sons.
