Edward Charles "Whitey" Ford was born in New York. He is an American former professional baseball pitcher who spent his entire 16-year Major League Baseball career with the New York Yankees. He was voted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1974. He is a ten-time MLB All-Star and six-time World Series champion. Ford won both the Cy Young Award and World Series Most Valuable Player Award in 1961.
